    Situation

    The humanitarian crisis in Yemen is the biggest of our time. 24.1 million people are in need of humanitarian assistance. Twenty million cannot access health care nor have enough food to eat, while nearly 18 million people do not have access to safe drinking water and sanitation facilities. 14 million people are in acute need of he Now, coronavirus has hit a population which was already incredibly vulnerable, resulting in more than four times the deaths from the disease than the global average.

    Solution

    Medair will respond to the humanitarian needs of 56,372 individuals through an integrated health, nutrition and WASH response targeting vulnerable persons in Al Hussein and As Shuyab Districts, Al Dhale Governorate. Basic maternal and child preventive and curative health and nutrition services will be provided to deliver a comprehensive service package. WASH activities will form an integrated part of the approach addressing unsafe water, poor hygiene, and diarrhoea’s effect on malnutrition.
