We are facing an emergency as a result of the Covid 19 pandemic. We have lost £200,000 in income. This core budget provides the essential food, medication and care for monkeys rescued from the pet trade. After so much trauma, the monkeys need the quality of life your support can help us give them.

    Situation

Covid 19 is a serious threat to the health of the monkeys at the Wild Futures Monkey Sanctuary. These rescued monkeys are particularly vulnerable as most have underlying health issues such as diabetes, heart disease or autoimmune diseases, as a result of their lives in the primate pet trade. To protect the monkeys and the people who care for them, we have had to close our site to visitors and suspend most of the educational and volunteer programmes; so we have lost a huge amount of core funding.

    Solution

Since March we have had to call on our amazing supporters to help provide food, medication and care for the monkeys at the Sanctuary. Careful planning has kept the welfare of the monkeys at the standard they deserve. Donations, grants and our adoption scheme have helped keep us going but we need to utilise every opportunity to ensure the monkeys' futures.
