The impact of Covid 19 means there is more need than ever to provide crucial support to the most vulnerable people living with ataxia across the UK. But at a time when we need to do more, the charity is facing a devastating loss of more than £250K in fundraising income as a result of the crisis.This will have a significant impact on our long term ability to continue to provide vital helpline services to those who need our support the most & prevent the charity from awarding research grants.
Solution
Ataxia UK urgently needs to raise £60,000 to help fund 2 core areas;to fund and develop our helpline services providing support to people living with ataxia, and fund research into treatments and a cure. £30K - will be allocated towards the helpline, ensuring it is staffed and our information provision is further developed to better allow our helpline to provide support to people affected by ataxia. £30K - will be allocated to help research into treatments and cures for the ataxias.
