The unprecedented pace and scale of Coronavirus is taking lives and destroying livelihoods. Some people in secure work and with support networks will have the money to cope. Many in our most vulnerable communities will not. While we have to keep apart physically to protect each other from the virus – we must also stand together with those whose livelihoods are being swept away by it.

    Situation

Our most vulnerable people in the UK face a financial crisis. Whether it’s older people, the thousands made redundant, the self-employed, those on zero-hour contracts, or single parents unable to work while they stay home with their children. So many have so few options to get through the coming months. And unless those of us who can help do, many thousands more will find themselves penniless or in crippling debt that could outlast the virus and limit entire generations.

    Solution

Thanks to the tremendous generosity of The Hartz Family Foundation providing matching funds to £100,000, Turn2us will be able to continue working hard to provide as many people as possible affected by the Coronavirus pandemic with crisis grants of £500 each to help them buy essentials, ensure we can answer calls to our free helpline, and offer vital guidance on financial support available during this crisis.
