UNA-UK has 2 primary concerns: first, that the polarising trends in geopolitics are weakening the appeal & impact of the UN, and that if a leading supporter of the UN such as the UK doesn’t actively defend it, few others will; second, a failing system of collective action will gravely damage the UK’s own interests as a primary beneficiary of security and stability worldwide. It's therefore vital for the British Government to show unmistakable leadership in key areas of in international concern.

We are the only charity in the UK dedicated to advocating for UK action at the UN as well as building support for the UN in the UK. As such, we are well-positioned to call for progressive UK leadership at the UN and for policy changes in the UK on key issues to better reflect the UK’s obligations & commitment to a ‘Global Britain’. Recent examples include campaigning on atrocity prevention, resulting in a guidance note from the Foreign Office and campaigning against arms trade with Saudi Arabia.
