    Situation

Over 700,000 children between 10 and 15 are victims of reported serious crime each year. To date we have helped over 16,000 child victims of crime and their families, Almost 50% of referrals to Embrace relate to sexual abuse or assault. Domestic violence accounts for nearly 16% of our beneficiaries. Meanwhile, serious violent crime, including knife crime is on the increase, particularly in London with an increase of 26 offences per 100,000 population in 2017/18 (compared to 2016/17)

    Solution

Our combination of practical, emotional and specialist support, delivered through a London-based Co-ordinator will respond to the immediate need of young victims of serious crime, and offer additional support/guidance to their families. Our team can refer young victims/families for specialist counselling, engage local support organisations and create a bespoke package of support for each case.
