We all know how much happier a break can make us feel. But what if you’ve never had the opportunity? Sadly, there are so many more families than we can currently reach in desperate need of our support. Which is why we’ve set ourselves the target of doubling the number of families we help every year.

    Situation

One in three families miss out on a break every year and the considerable benefits that time away from home can provide. The Family Holiday Association works with families on a low income who are struggling with some of the toughest challenges life can bring such as severe and long-term illness, bereavement, mental health issues, and domestic violence. We know how a simple break from a stressful situation can create precious memories, strengthen bonds and develop a new sense of optimism.

    Solution

For over 40 years the charity has been changing the lives of those truly in need by offering a short break or day out. The majority of breaks we provide involve short trips to the British seaside or countryside. We also enable families to go on day trips – such as a simple day out at the seaside or local tourist attraction or museum – and occasionally other types of break, such as group trips. We do not offer trips abroad.
