Our current outside space is too small for the 55+ students living at our hostel. We lack an area of relaxation as well as an area that can be used to learn about nature and agriculture. Our students are studying very hard in high school but lack knowledge to turn their learnings into practical solutions. Due to the size of our current garden we also do not have a designated laundry area for our students.

We have been offered the opportunity to acquire another plot of land (46m2) to expand our garden. We will use this plot mainly as a research lab for projects in agricultural science, linked to scholarship applications (fertilizer experiments, bee pollination etc) at Earth University in Costa Rica. The garden will also feature a nice area with plants for the students to de-stress as well as a small summer house. This will free up another area which we will then use exclusively for laundry.
