    Situation

    1. Lack of confidence and sense of self-worth following the shock of a diagnosis of dementia. 2. Particular distress for care givers as they see their loved one losing their abilities while they themselves face increasing and often debilitating physical and emotional demands. 3. Lack of suitable high-quality provision for people living with early-stage dementia in the community (as opposed to in residential care). 4. Difficulty finding such provision as exists.

    Solution

We will be working with major arts organisations, training their teams and partnering with them to deliver inspirational seed workshop programmes for people with early-stage dementia and their carers. Our trainees, including independent artists, will reach over 14,000 people with dementia and carers. Our signposting and advocacy work promotes access to local arts engagement for families affected by dementia across the UK.
