    Situation

There are 3.5bn young people in the world today, over double the number of 50 years ago. In the same period, global social and environmental change has reached crisis point, presenting challenges that must be resolved urgently. Young people will be most affected by these challenges and are pivotal to their successful resolution. They are not being exposed early enough to the principles of sustainability, its challenge or opportunities, so remain untapped as an informed force for change.

    Solution

The Sygnature Award meets the growing need for young people to gain a deep understanding of sustainability principles and how to action them. This unique programme, developed with the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (SA), provides 21 century skills and knowledge of key concepts of systems thinking and complexity theory: it's a powerful opportunity for youth to become future-fit, to be able to make better informed life/career choices and to thrive in a rapidly changing world.
