    Situation

In the current economic climate, musicians need our support more than ever. A recent survey found that 98% of musicians are worried about how the cost of living crisis will affect their career, 90% are worried about affording food with their current income and more than half are very concerned they’ll be forced to leave the industry. These factors can also disproportionally affect those from minoritised groups who also face barriers of racism and misogyny in the music industry.

    Solution

Our Career Development Programme supports up-and-coming artists with personalised coaching, mentoring and career strategy sessions, providing visibility, access to industry professionals, and the chance to develop skills as music educators, all of which helps build a sustainable career in music. The programme has also helped reach a younger generation of artists by training our mentees to lead our music education programme.
