For all young Londoners, LYC is a place where you can learn, thrive & excel; a place of acceptance & encouragement where your voice means everything. Funds raised will support the expansion of our teaching and 10th Anniversary performance programme and help us ensure LYC is accessible for all.

    Situation

Music teaching is consistently being sidelined in education and the cost of living crisis further impacts on this. All young people deserve to experience the joy and benefits of singing in a choir, but for many these opportunities are not accessible due to cost or lack of local provision. This means they miss out on opportunities to develop not only musical skills, but teamwork, confidence & concentration, which can be instrumental in allowing young people to reach their potential.

    Solution

LYC’s team of choral specialists can make real substantial change to the lives & ambitions of young Londoners. In January, we launch our 4th junior choir in the outer boroughs, bringing our total number of choirs to 10 and increasing access to the LYC Experience, bringing it closer to home for many. This year, up to 1,500 young people will learn and perform with LYC, including singing in our 10th Anniversary Concert at the Copper Box Arena in the QE Olympic Park. Big GIve donations enable this.
