    Situation

Zimbabwe and Mozambique face significant humanitarian needs. In Zimbabwe, economic volatility continues to affect the livelihoods of young people. In Mozambique, extreme weather events remain a huge issue. Young people in these countries struggle to access Technical Vocational Educational Training (TVET). The SYRP opens access to TVET opportunities through an innovative approach integrating life skills and enterprise training leading to income opportunities and strengthened resilience.

    Solution

SERVE's partner YA offer accredited technical vocational training, entrepreneurship training, and life skills training, empowering thousands of young people to become employable and entrepreneurs. The SYRP is based on identifying a need for a more holistic approach to TVET, with enhanced post-graduation support and access to credit for graduates and franchisees of YA, as well as training on economic and emotional resilience to overcome changes to economic activity, income, and access to savings.
