The cost of best veterinary care for our equines is above that budgeted. We already have a discount with our superb veterinary professionals and indeed all professional services which we use. However, we need to reserve more funds for unexpected vet care as we are experiencing more welfare cases than expected and whilst some horses are in poor condition on arrival, We do always have to ensure that we can also support our existing horses and ponies with the best care too.

We will hold more funds in reserve so that should an unexpected welfare case arrive or a veterinary need arises with an existing horse or pony, then we do not need to hurriedly raise additional funds and "borrow" monies from elsewhere in our business plan. We can also use these funds for precautionary measures when needed which will alleviate bigger costs to the Charity in the future.
