    Situation

As it recovers from the impact of the pandemic, The Sixteen seeks support for its 26 destination UK Choral Pilgrimage tour in 2023. Importantly, it aims to introduce a diverse audience to the healing power of choral music performed in magical destinations for which the music was written, which lie at the heart of the local community and are often culturally underserved. Performances are enjoyed by everyone and workshops specifically reach the homeless, refugees, older adults and young people.

    Solution

Through workshops, the Sixteen will engage those who may have felt isolated during the pandemic to discover the power of singing and choral music. Singing can help with confidence, self discipline, enjoyment and engagement with others. This tour will build on the Choral Pilgrimage's 23 year legacy of promoting wellbeing at a time when people need it most. It aims to help those who listen and participate to make a lifelong connection to music.
