The rainforests of Borneo, home to the Critically Endangered Bornean orangutan, are being lost at a devastating rate. We are raising funds to help communities, living side by side with wild orangutans, to protect the rainforest by providing jobs, education and sustainable livelihood initiatives.

Situation
Borneo’s rainforests are some of the most biodiverse areas in the world, harbouring a plethora of wildlife, providing economic and social benefits to indigenous communities and are major global carbon stores. However, these rainforests are under threat from land conversion, logging, mining, infrastructure development and forest fires. Forest loss is catastrophic for wildlife, human health and climate change, so restoring Borneo's forests is of urgent global importance.
Solution
We take a community-led approach to protect these last remaining rainforests in Borneo, and to conserve the wildlife, cultural values and economic benefits they provide whilst empowering local people to manage their forests and protect natural resources for the future. We are replanting trees, restoring burnt peatland and protecting the rainforest with firefighting and patrols, whilst supporting local people with sustainable livelihood development and new green job opportunities.
