Situation
The effect of the pandemic was felt the hardest in the disadvantaged communities we work in. Covid wiped out a decade of progress in improving social mobility and you are still 60% more likely to be in a professional job if you were from a privileged background rather than from a working-class background. All young people deserve to be recognised for their talents and to have equal access to opportunities and career networks for them to fulfil their potential in life and work.
Solution
Through diverse programmes and employability workshops we create a level playing field of opportunity to add value to the lives of, and make new connections for, disadvantaged young people. Working in partnership with schools, business & industry volunteers, we support young people develop practical skills including communication, teamwork, creativity, problem-solving, resilience and leadership. They identify and develop behaviours and values to take with them into their futures.
