    Situation

We aim to address the impacts of Covid-19, cost of living and the youth mental health crisis on young women, trans and non-binary youth. Instances of young people having a mental health problem since 2019 has increased by 50% (Young Minds, 2021); trans youth followed by girls and young women are the highest-risk groups (Children's Society, 2021). These issues have been compounded by other factors of Covid-19, including: - loneliness - disrupted education - socioeconomic shifts at home - grief

    Solution

Child psychologists have stated that music must form a vital part of the recovery of young people from the pandemic (PlayFirstUK, February 2021). We'll provide a healing-centred music-making camp for young women, trans and non-binary youth, that emphasises creative play, positive mental health and wellbeing. The camp will support them to: - make new friends and collaborate in teams - express themselves creatively - build their resilience - grow their confidence and self-esteem - have fun!
