Unseen’s Modern Slavery & Exploitation Helpline gives vital support and hope to victims of modern slavery and human trafficking. We need this free, confidential, 24/7 lifeline to keep operating so people trapped in slavery can get to safety – and data from Helpline calls continues to be used to rid the UK of these horrific crimes.

    Situation

There are an estimated 100,000 victims of slavery in the UK. Each week, thousands of men, women and children are forced to work or commit crimes against their will. Global conflicts, poverty and rising living costs only make matters worse, with more people becoming vulnerable to human trafficking and exploitation. We have recently received calls from Ukrainians fleeing war in their country who are worried about exploitation in the UK. Without an accurate picture of the exploiters’ methods of recruitment, transport and control, the police and other authorities find it harder to stop these terrible crimes.

    Solution

Operating 24/7, 365 days a year, and available in over 200 languages, Unseen’s Modern Slavery & Exploitation Helpline offers free, confidential information and advice to thousands of victims who have nowhere else to turn. Our expert Helpline advisors work round-the-clock to support victims, liaising with police and others to get them to safety. Uniquely, data from the Helpline provides critical intelligence that informs the anti-slavery work of governments, police, businesses and other charities, ultimately helping more victims.
