    Situation

Gurnell Grove Estate situated in Ealing has approx 1500 residents and is in the top 10% of deprivation in the UK, falling far below the national averages in the areas of income, employment, health & barriers to housing and services. It is a diverse community with a mixture of ethnic groups including British, Somali, Syrian, and many others. There are a range of religions represented including Islam, Hindu, Sikh and Christian. We work with all religions, age groups and genders.

    Solution

The Grove Community, working name for Gurnell Grove Community Trust, works with residents to see community transformed, lives changed & hope restored by running a variety of projects to build community & combat isolation. As well as running a community cafe, kids club, monthly pop up events & Sunday church services, we are excited to expand our care in 2023, building on trials in 2022 of English speaking & trauma courses, & launching debt / money & food support, hopefully a Community Grocery
