This campaign has now closed
The conflict in the northern part of Ethiopia resulted in the destruction of countless schools and their infrastructure. Many students have been without proper education for well over a year. Our proposal is to assist in the rehabilitation of 12 schools in the Amhara and Afar regions.

Situation
On top of the grave human suffering that it caused, the conflict in northern Ethiopia resulted in the destruction of countless schools and their infrastructure. Reconstruction and rehabilitation has now started, and Camara Ethiopia have been asked by the Ministry of Education to assist in the rehabilitation of schools in the Amhara and Afar regions. At present, many children are without education altogether and certainly unable to access the resources and technology we will provide.
Solution
We will help rehabilitate twelve schools, providing each with an eLearning centre containing 40 desktop computers, along with a server to host educational resources and allow monitoring of the computers’ usage. Training will be offered to five teachers from each school, and we will provide quarterly support and maintenance visits for a year. The Ministry of Education will undertake and pay for any physical reconstruction needed, and they also subsidise the cost of the hardware we install.
