Demand for our cancer and bereavement support services is higher than ever– as more people struggle with grief or with the shock of a new cancer diagnosis. We need to raise funds so we can offer help to more people – giving them the professional help and emotional support to face whatever is next.

    Situation

More and more people are calling to ask us for help – and rising demand means it costs us nearly 25% more to provide our services than it did before the pandemic. We hear from people whose cancer diagnosis or treatment has been delayed; and from people struggling to come to terms with the death of a loved one during the restrictions of Covid-19. Our clients may be anxious, isolated, angry, or overwhelmed. CancerCare’s therapies help people cope with the emotions caused by cancer and grief.

    Solution

Our professional assessors are here to help guide clients to the right kind of therapy for them – be it grief counselling, massage to ease pain and aid sleep, hypnotherapy to reduce anxiety, or creative activity groups in which to explore a new skill in a supportive environment. We also offer support to children: play therapy for younger children, and counselling and group support for teenagers. We have decades of experience helping people cope with the emotions caused by cancer and grief.
