Prospect Hospice delivers an essential night sit service supporting dying people in their own homes, offering carers an unbroken nights rest while we do everything we can to make sure their loved one has whatever they need. We seek funding to be able to continue this care over winter.

Situation
There are always more patients and their families who want this service than we can provide carers for. This creates the sometimes heartbreaking situation where we have to tell desperate people, caring for a dying loved one (or sometimes patients themselves) that we cannot send them a carer for the night. Funding from the Big Give means that we can go some way towards eliminating this highly disappointing situation for our patients and their often exhausted families.
Solution
The simple solution to this is funding. With more money, we can increase the number of Prospect@Home 'night sits' that our team can provide. With an expanded pool of professionals available to support patients through the night, fewer will have to face nights, when they are close to the end of their lives, with the uncertainty of not knowing if one of our qualified team will be there for them.
