The cost of living crisis has hit people facing homelessness hard. People already struggling have been pushed to the edge of despair. Unprecedented energy price rises have left people facing the choice between eating and heating. Fuel price rises has seen the cost of transport hit record highs and increased the cost of groceries.Benefits, wages and pensions have not kept up with rising costs. Thousands of people face dark prospects this Christmas and real fear for the year ahead.
Solution
The solution to homelessness is about much more than providing a roof overhead. It takes time, patience and trust to reignite someone's hope. We will provide supported housing so young people can build their independent living skills. We will provide crisis support for people who sleep rough. Showers, laundry, clothing, food, friendship. We will empower women facing domestic abuse to find safety and we will help improve people's wellbeing so they aspire to find employment and community.
