Help us to fund our food redistribution service, which takes food that would otherwise go to waste and delivers it to charities and community groups across the North East region - making sure it gets to families and individuals who need it most in the run-up to Christmas.

Situation
500,000 people, including 150,000 children, live in poverty in the North East - the region has the second-highest rate of child poverty in the UK. Our members register for our help due to a need for a reliable source of food for people in their area who are facing financial hardship. "Before, our foodbank relied mostly on donations from the community and whilst it’s brilliant to have their support, with FareShare North East we’re able to provide a wider range of items.” (Community Food Member).
Solution
We help to alleviate hunger for thousands of people by delivering a food service to over 200 groups across the region, and in doing so, enable the wrap-around care to help individuals progress to a more independent and sustainable situation. The organisations that we deliver food to include schools, youth groups, homeless shelters, and community cafes. People facing food poverty of all ages and backgrounds benefit from our food, which is given in the form of food parcels and cooked meals.
