    Situation

Many men, women and young people serving a sentence in prison are trapped in a cycle of despair, hopelessness, and reoffending. Without hope their world becomes as small as their physical prison cell, cementing the cycle, and having a hugely negative impact on mental health, wellbeing, and any desire for positive change. We believe that one of the keys to breaking this cycle is hope. Real, tangible hope and the ‘Stories of Hope’ programme was created to address this very issue.

    Solution

Every day, we see first-hand the transformational power that hope can have, with clients moving from a life of crime and self-abuse to a fulfilling life of restored relationships, employment and becoming leaders in their community. Our programme distributes 80,000 packs and accompanying media resources to prisons each year. They are highly engaging; utilise tactile, auditory and visual elements; and contain inspirational life stories; an interactive creative activity; a CD; and reading materials
