Children as young as 6 years old are working at brick factories and other dangerous settings. We are helping these children by provision of education, shelter (when needed), care and opportunities for bright future. We are supporting the parents through provision of basic necessities.

Situation
There are 162 brick factories in Rautahat. We investigated 6 and found over 90 young children working there so the number in all factories will be much higher. All the children are from Dalit (untouchable) castes. There are around 150 children living and/or working on the streets of Birgunj. None of the children are receiving education and all live either on the streets or in extreme poverty even when they have families/homes.
Solution
We will provide education to all the children and will ensure they complete it. We will support the parents by provision of basic necessities. We will provide shelter when needed at our Birgunj Child Helpline/Transit Home, care, counselling, legal support, training and most importantly - opportunities for bright future.
