Can you help a young person fulfil their potential? We believe that everyone should have the opportunity to learn to play a brass or percussion instrument, enjoy brass music and take part in banding activities in the community where they live, regardless of their circumstance and/or background.

    Situation

The pandemic, successive lockdowns and school budget cuts have seen many children and young people in rural areas, deprived towns and cities miss out on picking up an instrument for the first time over the last 2 years. This has hit low-income and ethnic minority families hardest.

    Solution

Brass Foundations will create the new, young and diverse brass musicians of tomorrow. This national music education programme aims to reach 10,000 children and young people providing access to instruments, tuition, workshops and support in joining a local brass band/ensemble. It gives participants a chance to develop their skills/confidence, hear and watch inspiring players, be a part of their local community and have the opportunity to attend and perform at our annual Youth Champs contest.
