Our annual Christmas party is a chance for us all to come together to share food, laugh, dance and sing, and for each woman in our network to go home with a Christmas gift. This year will be our first in-person Christmas party since 2019 so we want to make it extra special!

    Situation

For many of us, Christmas is a time of joy and togetherness. However, we know that for the refugee women in our network it can be extremely lonely and isolating. Refugee and asylum-seeking women have already survived so much, including rape, war and persecution. Yet many are living destitute in the UK and struggling to survive. This is exacerbated in wintertime when many services are closed, the weather is cold and dark, and more women need support to see them through.

    Solution

Our annual Christmas party is a chance for us all to come together to share food, laugh, dance and sing, and for each woman in our network (over 350) to receive a Christmas gift, reducing the isolation and loneliness many women feel during the festive season. Through our provision of emergency hardship support, high-quality legal advice and mental health support we will ensure women are supported through the harsh winter months and into the new year.
