Situation
Many of our 3,000 limbless veterans & families struggle to pay for essential goods, health treatments, mobility/disability equipment & services. 1,450+ requests were fulfilled with wrap-around in the last year. 54% of our Blesma Members are 65+. Many veterans, both young and old, experience multiple & complex health conditions due to their injuries & don't receive government compensation. In 2023, Blesma expects the cost of providing financial support to Member to increase by at least 30%.
Solution
You can help Blesma Support and Outreach Officers continue to provide frontline emotional, practical and financial support 3,000 limbless/injured veterans, their widow(er)s & families UK-wide. Your support will help provide financial help, including wrap-around support to 70 of our most vulnerable and elderly Blesma Members – to help them cover the costs of essential living expenses, energy/household bills, crucial disability/mobility equipment, and necessary home/garden maintenance costs.
