Retina UK is a charity supporting people affected by inherited sight loss and investing in medical research to help make their challenges a thing of the past. Their challenges are unique; they have to deal with both visual impairment and the knowledge that it will continue to deteriorate. This isn't just physical, it's also emotional, often resulting in depression, anxiety and social isolation for both the individual and their families, who are first to provide support. We are here for them all.

We have been funding medical research for over 45 years, and one treatment has emerged for a small proportion (0.3%) of those living with inherited sight loss. We will keep investing in research until treatments are available to all. We also bring the community together so that they realise they're not alone, have a volunteer led Helpline for all to use, and are currently developing a wellbeing programme to help our community manage the often damaging impact of their conditions.
