Many of Coalbrookdale’s listed buildings and monuments need significant conservation. There is an immediate need to address the most urgent repairs, already delayed by the impact of COVID-19. There is also a need for long-term funding for Coalbrookdale, to ensure its preservation and accessibility. The most urgent conservation needs include replacing structure covering "The Old Furnace", removing debris from downpipes to improve water flow and treating rot in the base of the clocktower.

We will prioritise the most important work for immediate start. We will also put some funds aside into an endowment fund, which will be matched by the National Lottery Heritage Fund. This will be invested to provide an annual income in perpetuity, so that we can continue to look after these industrial heritage gems for generations to come. We rely on visitor income, so Covid had a huge impact. Investing in an endowment fund is a way of ensuring we will have reliable income for years to come.
