Being ill and needing medical treatment is difficult at any point in life but when you are a child, it is particularly confusing and scary. If you’ve ever been in hospital, you will know those feelings of missing home, being worried and scared, and struggling in strange surroundings. Hospital stays through children's eyes are all of these things, and more. This is where the Giggle Doctors can really help.
Solution
Our highly trained Giggle Doctors combine child led music, play, magic and storytelling, or they simply listen and respond. They bring joy and laughter to children, their families and even staff in the 22 hospitals, and specialist care centres we visit and via our Giggle-a-Grams and Virtual Visits. Theodora Children’s Charity say ‘much more than laughter’ because of proven evidence that an interaction between a Giggle Doctor and a child are profound, and last well beyond the interaction itself.
