Young people who have experienced homelessness have tonnes of talent and potential. However, they often lack the opportunities needed to develop these strengths. Give them the same support as other young people; contribute to Talent Bonds so they can grow their talents and meet their life ambitions

    Situation

Young people experiencing homelessness don't receive the same investment in their talents as those with the support of a family and a stable home. They face additional barriers like insecure housing, low/no income, a lack of qualifications and formal training and higher rates of mental health issues. This makes it harder for them to share their skills with society. This project aims to level the playing field so young people can realise their power and purpose despite their circumstances.

    Solution

This project will make small, personalised financial grants directly to young people who have experienced homelessness and live in supported accommodation (Foyers). They can apply for up to £300 to develop a skill, pursue a passion or grow a talent, receiving financial backing for their investment of time and energy. Young people will shape and manage their own projects in line with their ambitions and dreams. We will work with Foyers and young people to support recipients in their pursuits.
