Situation
Young people’s access to and participation in the arts has suffered a decline since the pandemic. Compounding this, economic inequality is widening disproportionately effecting Black, Asian and other ethnically diverse young people. Fuel believe everyone has the right to participate freely in cultural life and in the power of art and creativity to create social change. Artistic engagement with young people is at the core of what we do.
Solution
Support will enable Fuel to: - Produce live experiences that share new stories, for the benefit of young audiences and participants in under-served areas and across the country - Remove any real or perceived barriers to engagement with theatre, through our 10% free ticket scheme and by working with local engagement specialists and regional partners. – Employ educational and learning engagement specialists to ensure the work’s content is as educationally relevant as it is artistically innovative.
