    Situation

UWC Atlantic hopes to raise enough funds to support scholarships for young refugees to join its community in September 2023. The college is committed to responding to regional conflict crises. As a world leading pre-university college and a founding member of an international education movement – the United World Colleges, it is uniquely placed to respond quickly to ensure the world’s most promising youth are not hindered by conflict and war and receive the education they deserve.

    Solution

With more than 100 million refugees, asylum seekers, and internally displaced people currently scattered across the globe and almost half of those being children, access to essential support and services like education is drastically falling short for these desperate young people. There is an urgent need for refugee youth to gain access to world-class education helping them to become tomorrow’s leaders of their communities. Our project will offer full scholarships to refugee students to access this much-needed schooling at UWC Atlantic.
