    Situation

Last year, at least 122,000 young people faced homelessness. The 16-25 year olds that EYH support have been shut off from mainstream society and the opportunities needed to live successful independent lives. Before the age of 18, many have had their futures written off; society tells them they’ve already failed. Without the confidence, familial support and opportunities of their housed peers, vulnerable young people are stuck in a cycle of homelessness that seems impossible to break.

    Solution

It takes more than a bed to end homelessness. Young people need integrated support to leave homelessness behind for good. Our national services support young people to access permanent housing, sustainable careers and successful futures by providing: 1. A home 2. Employment, education and training (EET) opportunities 3. Support with mental health and wellbeing This level of holistic support allows young people to break the cycle of homelessness and move towards happy, independent futures.
