Feedback works for food that is good for the planet and its people. We pilot community initiatives to reduce waste, address food insecurity, and empower people with food growing/cooking skills. We advocate for a sustainable and just food system.

    Situation

The cost of living crisis and pandemic have exposed the UK’s deeply flawed food system. Today, 7.4 million adults will skip a meal, and the increasing number of people facing food insecurity is causing food banks to buckle under pressure. Fuel poverty means families must choose between heating or eating. Despite this, 3.5 million tonnes of edible food is wasted on farms annually while supermarket shareholders are raking in record profits and national food policy is failing to tackle the problem.

    Solution

Feedback works to ensure our food - from farm to fork - is fair, accessible, and sustainable. Through our local pilot projects, we are creating access to good food, helping young people into employment in the food and farming sector and building long-term resilience to food insecurity. We use this work as a platform to pressure the government to enact long-term solutions that put the needs of people and the planet before profits.
