    Situation

There is limited opportunity for many people groups in society to engage meaningfully in culture. The experience of live music and its proven benefits to health and well-being should be accessible to all ages and walks of life and delivered in meaningful and appropriate ways to diverse communities, but this is sadly not often the reality - both in terms of provision and the levels of accessibility, from a physical and psychological standpoint.

    Solution

The Music Festival provides opportunities for positive engagement, exploration, and development. We provide year-round schools music programmes and an annual concert. In 2022 we are piloting a relaxed concert for special schools to enable SEND school children to have the same opportunity; we intend to deliver this every year. As well as the world class traditional concert hall events, we are producing an informal 'Around Town' programme that takes culture out into harder to reach communities.
