The Swiss Church in London supports early and mid-career artists from all disciplines by offering exhibition space, artist residencies and networking opportunities in a beautiful Central London location. We believe that in times of crisis the voices of artists are more important than ever.

    Situation

Exhibition and working spaces in Central London for artists at the beginning of their career are scarce. Funding for the arts is rapidly declining in the current economic climate. Artists are vital to capture and express the mood of our time, to challenge society and our ways of thinking, and they can provoke change. Furthermore, the arts are vital for our mental and physical wellbeing, and they connect people. Community arts spaces are under threat.

    Solution

The Swiss Church is a place of worship, and a community and arts space. We want to be part of the solution by opening up our newly renovated grade-II listed building to early and mid career artists for exhibitions, artist residencies and networking events. This enables artists to developing their arts practice and finding their own style and confidence to work with other institutions. Artists receive a stipend which helps cover their living costs. They will become part of our alumni network.
