    Situation

Increasing numbers of young people are likely to have experienced one or a combination of depression, anxiety, self-harming, recurring or recent hospitalisation, extreme grief (perhaps through the loss of family, even resulting in being placed into care), resulting in mild to extreme difficulty in social situations. A further disadvantage stemming from these circumstances is a lack of access to culture for the young people.

    Solution

We will commission professional artists to deliver artist led workshops for vulnerable young people, working in partnership with Northamptonshire Hospital and Outreach Education to reach children who have been referred to NHOE by the child’s mainstream school and are supported by a medical practitioner. Activities will take place in learning centres around Northamptonshire, at our idyllic outreach base in Fermyn Woods, and directly in hospital settings.
