As we move into a world without the pandemic restrictions Orion Symphony Orchestra seeks to rebuild its programme of concerts enabling it to promote and provide development opportunities and training for young musicians and children, whose opportunities in 2020-21 were restricted by the pandemic.

    Situation

For young musicians having attended music college there is a lack of opportunity to continue to grow and develop their skills in an orchestral setting if they are not yet able to secure a place in a professional orchestra. This year the position is more acute with fewer opportunities for public performance since March 2020.

    Solution

Orion Symphony Orchestra provides an opportunity for Orchestral performance to professional standards for young musicians who might not otherwise obtain a place in an orchestra. The Orchestra is led by artistic directors who are experienced professionals who will develop young musicians to perform at the level that is required in professional orchestras. Often more rehearsal time might be provided.
