    Situation

Many girls in our community have been hard hit by the coronavirus crisis which has exacerbated their vulnerability and isolation. Lockdown has caused a soar in child poverty, with jobs lost and families struggling to keep children fed and homes warm and lit. The pandemic has also taken it's toll on mental health as well as seen a 25% rise in domestic abuse calls. For many migrant families livelihoods have been threatened as they struggle to access benefits and fear for their immigration status.

    Solution

We will organise an extensive programme of activities that will promote and maintain the wellbeing of girls and young women whose vulnerability has been exacerbated by the coronavirus crisis. The summer will be great for many as we enjoy our freedom, but for some girls without means it might be a terrible time of boredom. We will provide either a remote or face to face programme of activities that will allow the girls to socially connect, stay positive and motivated and have fun.
