With our partner, Sky Is The Limit, we will develop its 8-acre farm using sustainable organic farming practices to increase food sovereignty and produce food for a daily nutritious school meals to 397 disadvantaged children, restore its ecosystem, and increase opportunities for local young people.

Situation
Fort Portal is one of the poorest regions of Uganda according to the Ugandan Ministry of Health, with high food insecurity caused by increasing poverty, use of unsustainable agriculture methods, and inadequate food storage. This leaves many children malnourished and unable to fight illness or focus in school which impacts their education. Sky Is The Limit tackles hunger by giving daily school meals to its 400 pupils, but is currently unable to grow enough food sustainably in its 8-acre farm.
Solution
By introducing organic farming at Sky Is The Limit and providing accredited training to the farm workers to up-skill them in organic farming methods, we can sustainably increase yields of food currently produced by the farm, while reducing carbon emissions and use of chemical fertilisers, lowering the risk of pollution in the soil and water, and restoring the ecosystem. Training will also be offered to local young people, encouraging the practices of organic farming in rural Uganda.
