CLIMATE SISTERS - BRINGING WOMEN’S VOICES TO THE CLIMATE TABLE

Wen’s Climate Sisters project is giving a voice to marginalised women in climate debates. Women and particularly women of colour are impacted more by climate change but are not equally represented in climate decision-making. Their needs and priorities are overlooked leading to less effective climate solutions. Help bring more women and diverse voices to the climate table. There is no climate justice without gender justice!

Situation

Women and particularly marginalised women are still under-represented in climate and environmental decision-making forums at all levels.  According to She Changes Climate, only 7% of the people that made up heads of delegations at COP26 were women.

Solution

Working together with women’s and community groups across the UK, the Climate Sisters project is platforming their vision, concerns and needs for a green, safe, and caring economy. Marginalised voices are being included in Feminist Green New Deal policy papers and an action plan for policy makers to enact. There are still many more women and diverse groups that must be heard by policy makers. With your support we can amplify their voices.
