    Situation

The climate emergency is already impacting Cumbrian communities through flooding, extreme weather and sea level rise. As more people become aware of the severity of the future implications of climate change, we are here to respond with support and services to help local people take necessary action. Together, our work will help ensure a safer, more climate-friendly future for our county and for future generations. But we need to act swiftly, and we need to act now.

    Solution

Our vision is a zero carbon Cumbria by 2037 at the latest. This requires rapid and wide-reaching action. To achieve this, we work at all levels, from individuals to businesses to community-wide approaches, to bring about more sustainable practices. Key focus areas include domestic and community energy, climate training and education, youth engagement and sustainable business. All of which are essential if we are to achieve our zero carbon target and ensure the future of Cumbria is sustainable.
