Help St Andrew’s Club support our members, their families and our community through our extensive and varied youth programmes, including our 4-week Summer Project – where we will provide a safe, fun, and educational space for members, alleviating pressure for working parents.

    Situation

Few affordable engaging opportunities that appeal to what local young people want/need. During the school holidays, financial strains on low-income families can be exacerbated. Covering the free school meals that their children usually have in term time, childcare, and participation in activities are restricted by cost. Children from poorer families face problems such as learning-loss, food insecurity and loneliness – which can have profound effects on mental health – during school holidays.

    Solution

Our holiday provision is free and our term time provision is extremely low cost. We aim to enrich young lives by giving local young people, aged 5 to adulthood, the chance to thrive and give back to society by providing activities that are enabling, educational and participative in a safe, neutral environment. We provide a well-balanced meal at every session, again free of charge.
