People with mental health issues, cancer and/or long-term health conditions are struggling to adjust, or continue living with symptoms including chronic pain, depression and anxiety and are often feeling socially isolated. As one person who came to us said: 'Prior to the course I felt very ashamed of the mental health problems I have. I was also extremely isolated'

Artlift provides individuals with 10 weekly supportive creative art sessions, Our courses are led by compassionate and caring professional artists, who are able to accommodate groups of people who have a range of needs and bring fun to their lives whilst helping them to feel better. 'Attending Artlift has definitely improved my confidence, provided me with some company once a week and honestly has been a lifeline to me in a very challenging and stressful period of my life'

  • 'Artlift has made such a huge difference to my life. Before joining the course I felt hopeless, a failure. I've made new friends, something I thought would be impossible, it has even made me look positively at the future. I feel that I have a purpose and drive now that wasn't there before.'

  • 'Artlift not just helped me with my depression and anxiety but also in managing my physical conditions. It has been "my motivation" helped me focus and get organised, and something to look forward to, during the darkest times of my life.'

  • 'I came on this course to learn some ways of dealing with my pain other than strong medication. This is exactly what the artists have helped me to achieve. We laugh together which is a great antidote to pain and sadness, & I can manage my pain better by focusing on doing creative activities.'
