BelEve is raising vital funds to provide a mentor for disadvantaged young women, aged 16-21. Mentoring has been proven to positively impact the life chances of mentees, by building their confidence and self-belief and helping them reach their true potential in life, regardless of their background.

    Situation

Disaffected young women from disadvantaged backgrounds, many within the BAME community, struggle to achieve their full potential throughout their education and career paths. Held back by poverty, social exclusion, emotional issues, a lack of self-belief, confidence and opportunity, they struggle to engage with education and society in general. Many of these young women from low-income households become a NEET (not in education, employment or training) statistic and have poor life expectations.

    Solution

We will match disadvantaged young women with a carefully selected empathetic female mentor who will listen to, inspire and empower them to believe in themselves, build their confidence and self-esteem and set measurable, achievable goals to fulfil their education or career aspirations. Female led and working alongside the community and schools, BelEve works hard to improve the lives of vulnerable, disadvantaged and underrepresented women and girls, whose needs we are well suited to meet.
