People are starving in Afghanistan. More than 8 million are on the brink of famine as drought, conflict and the Covid-19 pandemic cause a catastrophic rise in hunger. Children are dying today, and a million more under the age of five are at risk of dying over the next three months. We need to act now to save lives. If we don’t act now, many more lives could be lost. More than 22 million people face hunger as the freezing winter sets in, with children amongst those most vulnerable.
Solution
Your support will help DEC charities and their local partners to provide emergency food and nutrition support for children, support healthcare facilities and provide winter kits to help displaced families stay warm. Other priorities include supplying clean drinking water and protecting women and girls.
